A lot of people/companies rent out holiday flats or apartments for tourists at a daily rate, usually the same price as a 2-star hotel but there are lots of advantages, the prises in range 75 Euro- 120 per night for 4 peoples plus 20 euros for extra person/s. There is also the option of renting an aprtament on a weekly or monthly basis. All holiday apartments come fully equipped. If you coming with a group it's better to rent apartment than hottel or hostel that is the chapest option with a lot of levels of freedom.

Actually I would recommend Orange prepaid card currently it goes with 5 euro international call card and cost 10 euros with 5 euros on your account. So it's good option for not long stay in Barcelona. Another sujestion if you need to speak to a live operator try saying “puedo hablar con un operador en ingles por favor” so operator may anser you in english.
